Calling all DOG lovers

So, as most anyone can tell from this blog...I'm obsessed in love with my lil Cooper. We rescued him 3 years ago and I can't really describe how much he means to us. I love animals and I'm a huge advocate for rescuing them whenever possible! So, when I read about One Dog at a Time on Erika's blog, I knew Coop and I had to give to sponsor a precious pup.
One Dog at a Time is the blog of two sisters, Brooke and Brittany, who are participating in a program called Shelter Partners in Shelby County, Alabama.
Here's the skinny on what they are doing straight from their blog:
For those of you who have not heard of this program, let us fill you in. Because of the strict spay and neuter laws in New Hampshire most of their shelters actually have a shortage of adoptable dogs. What a great problem to have! So, volunteers (that would be us) drive 19-23 hours with 33 dogs in a van from the overcrowded Shelby County Humane Society here in Alabama to a partner shelter in New Hampshire. From what we have learned, all the dogs are typically adopted within a matter of days! We are both a little nervous but most of all excited about this awesome journey. The trip costs $750-$850 which is usually paid for by donations to the Shelby County Humane Society. But, we really want to try to raise all or some of the money ourselves. There is a donate button on the right side of this page where you can donate any amount of money. Or, click on the link to the right that says ABOUT SHELTER PARTNERS and you can pay $50 to sponsor a dog from our trip. Just be sure and let Jennifer know that you would like to sponsor a dog from our trip which as of now is set for June 19th. We hope to keep you all updated throughout the planning process and along the way. And we also hope to have many posts once we get back and start receiving information about the adoption of our dogs. Most of all, we ask for your prayers. This is going to be a long journey physically, emotionally and mentally and we will need all the help we can get leading up to and especially throughout our journey. 33 days and counting!
So, if you can please go donate to this great cause! And even if you can't donate financially right now please offer them your prayers!
And what would a post about dogs be without a picture of my precious!

This was taken 2 days after we adopted Coop.

Doesn't he look so little and different.

Those eyes -- melt my heart!

I forgot how small Cooper was when you first got him! You do have a big heart for dogs! I'll offer my prayers. :)
