Weekend update

We had a great weekend. One of those weekends where you have no plans and just enjoy yourself. We enjoyed dinner Friday night with some friends at Buffalo Wild Wings - one of my favs. It was yummy.
I had a small interruption to my weekend Saturday morning. I had to come into work and take inventory. We only do it 4 times a year but I swear it feels like I'm doing it every time I turn around! Oh's done now.

Saturday afternoon we took our WaveRunner to the lake near our house for a couple of hours. We decided we needed to do one more "summer" activity before it officially becomes fall at our house. Which will happen this weekend when college football kicks off and takes over our lives!
Sunday we went to church and ran errands and were just lazy. It was great. I also read the first Harry Potter book this weekend - I really liked it. My friend Lacey is an avid reader and she is always loaning me books to read - she wants me to read the Harry Potter series. I really liked the first one and it was an easy read so I'll probably make my way through this series.

Did you guys do anything special this past weekend?

Falling for you

It's almost fall and I can't wait. Fall is hands down my favorite season - for several reasons...the weather is great, I love fall clothes, and of course college football! It's just around the corner! I'm ready for boots and tights and of course my orange and blue. Some eye candy for the fall season!

These items above are all from Old Navy. Super cute and super affordable!

Don't you just love those days when you are in the mood to make something and you actually have all of the ingredients on hand?!?! That happened to me yesterday - I couldn't believe it. We aren't really stock the pantry kind of people. More like we buy what we plan on eating and that's it. But I wanted chocolate oatmeal cookies and had all the stuff to make them.
This from memory (which isn't usually that good so I'll double check myself tonight)!
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups oats
1 tablespoon vanilla
Heat the first 4 ingredients on med heat until they start boiling. Boil for 1 minutes while stirring. Remove from heat and add last 3 ingredients. Stir. Drop onto wax paper (I was out so I used foil) and let cool. Cookies will harden.
Mine aren't completely hardened in the picture. I didn't get a picture of them completely hardened. It was late by that point.
Yes, I did scrap one off before it was done - I couldn't resist!

They are delicious and remind me of when I was younger and my mom would make them! Enjoy!

A great weekend

I had a great weekend. We did see "The Proposal" Friday night and it was really cute. I think Keith even liked it. I would recommend it. I headed to Birmingham Saturday morning and met my mom, sis and Prec for a great lunch. Then we headed to meet this guy.

Fearing Mosley
Isn't he precious?!? He'll be 3 weeks tomorrow! I'm so glad I got to finally meet him and see my precious friend Whitney!
Who looks great by the way!
Harper loves babies. She is going to be a great big sis!
Shan's an old pro! I was a little nervous - new babies are so tiny!

He was so tiny and sweet. I could have held him all weekend! Whit and Beau are great parents - they are naturals!

Nothing sweeter!
I got to spend all day Saturday and Sunday morning with my Prec! She is the funniest person I know. She will crack you up! I miss her already!
Sunday we went to church and heard a great message and then I hit the road. I missed my guys. And we spent the rest of the day being lazy! It was a great weekend!

It's the weekend...

...and I'm really glad. I'm looking forward to a date night tonight with my sweet husband. I think we are doing dinner and movie. Leaning towards "The Proposal" - I think it looks cute and I've heard pretty good things about it. I'll let you know...
Tomorrow I'm heading to the Ham for a quick trip. There is someone I'm dying to meet! Whitney had Fearing 2 weeks ago and I can't wait any longer to meet him so I'm making the trip for a proper introduction! He's a cutie and I'll have some pics on Monday. And I'm looking forward to spending most of the day with my Mom, Sis & Prec!

Great deal for new moms and moms to be!

Right now you can go to and enter the promotion code "cousin2" and get a free nursing cover. Well, you still have to pay $8.95 for shipping but they are originally $32!
Most of them are on backorder until Sept. 29th but I think some of them were still available. There weren't a ton to choose from but for $8.95 you can't really beat it. I don't think you could make it that cheap.
I actually found this while randomly searching craigslist. One of my guilty pleasure!
Just thought I would share this great deal with you guys {all 6 of you who read this blog}!

Buckie the deer

Meet Buckie.
He's an eight point buck that will eat out of your hand and take all the petting you want to give.
We heard rumors of him and finally found him on Friday. Sarah practically jumped out of the truck to go pet and feed him. She's an animal lover like that. Did you know the deer love grapes? Well, they do. These little girls had a whole bag and Buckie couldn't get enough.
Did you also know deer shed their antlers every year and grow them back out. I didn't. I learned that this trip. Notice Buckie's antlers are velvety {not a word, I know} looking - they are in the process of growing back out.
Good Buckie.
He liked watermelon too.
This little lady was just hanging out on the side of the road so I snapped her picture.
It was amazing how close they would let you get.

The Great Outdoors

We had a great time camping! Here are some pictures of the last 5 days.
{You can click on any picture to make it larger}
We saw these guys the first day there.
They were just wandering through the campgrounds. They were everywhere!
Abby and Cooper. They did really good. I think Cooper likes camping. Well, he pretty much likes anywhere we are.
Just sitting around. We did lots of this! Jon and Sarah stayed with us the whole time. Dad & Kathy stayed in the lodge. My grandparents rode up a couple of days to hang out. Blake, Shan, Harper, Jason & Kinsey all rode up on Saturday to spend the day and eat dinner.

About to go hiking.

Family picture
We hiked to a cave.
Going inside.

A picture she drew for me!
Shan, Prec, me waiting to eat at Top O The River - sooo good!
Harpy's doggy - according to Shan the only kind she'll ever have. Sad! Aunt Tiff will buy her one!
Me & Prec "cheesin"

We got a new neighbor - this thing was so nice.
And huge. And did I mention how nice it was!!
Sarah gathering some pine straw to help our fire get started.
It was a great, relaxing couple of days. I really like camping. We ate good, played games, played some golf (I wish I had taken my camera - this was the craziest course ever but I did shoot my first birdie. It was awesome.), and just hung out. And of course it went by way too fast! Now back to reality.
