Officially in Oklahoma

Well, we are officially here! We had a great Thanksgiving and got to spend lots of time with family last week -- there will be lots of pictures coming! So, I was a little sad to leave and head this way! I got a little home sick last night but I know once things settle down and we get adjusted then everything will be just fine!
This is us before we left yesterday morning - one last family pic in our house in Memphis! It was early!

This is driving over! My view most of the way was the back of Keith's truck! But the drive wasn't bad at all! The weather wasn't good and we got a little turned around trying to find our apartment once we got into Tulsa but overall not bad! It took us 7 hours from Memphis to Tulsa - but we made several pit stops - more than would be necessary most of the time! We also had walkie talkies so it made it a little more fun!

This little guy had it made on the ride over! He sprawled out and slept pretty much the entire way! Ah, the good life! He's adjusting pretty good too! He sniffed around the apartment and already made his way under the bed! =)

He was so exhausted from the last few days that he literally kept falling asleep with his head up. It was cracking me up! He was nice company in the car!

This is my office here in Tulsa! Nice, right! I'm going to have one of the guys here take down the wall paper and paint it! Then I'll be able to officially settle in!

Hope you all have a great Monday! We are planning to get a Christmas tree tonight for our little apartment and I'm going to pick out some paint for my office. Any color suggestions?
PS - The blog was doing something weird today so if this post looks a little off that's why. It wouldn't upload the pictures right but I'm short on time so...

Giving Thanks!

{image via flickr}

This thanksgiving will be much different than previous ones and very different from future ones. But it may be my most "thankful" Thanksgiving yet! We obviously have so much to be thankful for but this year our blessings are particularly abundant! A new life growing in my belly, a new job, a new city to explore, and endless new opportunities all to share with my very best friend! Not to mention good health, family & friends. We are blessed!

I hope all of you have great Thanksgiving and take a minute to count your blessings!

Be back soon~

28

Me & my buddy! Love this little guy!
It's really getting on out there!!

How far along? 28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I went to the Dr. yesterday - this last month I gained 3 lbs. - which was much better than the month before! =)
Stretch marks? still none...My nurse yesterday told me that if I haven't gotten any by now that there is a really good chance I won't - I hope she's right!
Sleep: Yes and I'm trying to enjoy our king size bed for now because starting next week we'll be in a furnished apartment and I'm pretty sure it won't have a king size!
Best moment this week: registering!
Movement: Yes! My nurse could see him moving yesterday when she was listening to his heart beat!
Food cravings: I've been wanting doughnuts - but I'm obviously not craving them too bad because I haven't had any! Oh, and I'm really looking forward to all the good Thanksgiving food!
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: no
Belly Button in or out? Neither really - just stretched completely out or flat - does that make sense?
What I miss: not having to pee every other minute!
What I am looking forward to: Thanksgiving!
Weekly Wisdom: Embrace being pregnant - it's a gift!
Milestones: Getting a new job and moving - next week when I do this post I'll be living in Tulsa, OK!
My doctor's appt yesterday was pretty uneventful. His heart rate was 132 and my blood pressure was good. I got my rhogam shot, said a sad goodbye to everyone and that was pretty much it! But that is the way I like them - easy and uneventful!

Weekend update and some randomness

It was a great weekend! It was so nice to get home last Thursday night after being gone all week! It was a good week but very busy - I did get to visit my two new branches that I will be working at in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. It went well and I'm excited about this new chapter. Ready to get out there and get settled in!

Friday, Keith and I went and registered at Babies R Us. It was fun -- a little overwhelming -- who knew there were so many choices for everything that relates to a baby. And amazing that such a tiny person needs so much stuff. But we had fun and checked one more thing off the to do list which felt really nice! My sister gave me some good pointers on some of the must have items and some of the items that aren't worth it - she's my go to person for anything baby.

Friday night we just hung out at home and grilled out with some friends. This was our last weekend in Memphis so we wanted to make sure we spent time with our friends Lacey, Jared and Richard!

Saturday morning, we headed to Target to register. We figured this might be more convenient for some people so we decided to register at both places. The rest of the day was pretty low key. I caught up on all my shows I missed last week and started packing up some of the stuff that I'll need when we head to Tulsa.

Saturday night, Lacey and I headed to see New Moon - finally. It was awesome - I LOVED it!

Have you Twilight fans seen it yet? Did you love it too?

Sunday was pretty low key. I did make some pumpkin bread. My sister told me how good it was last week and she was right - it is delicious! Also, we listed our house last week. Check out our realtor's name! I'm praying it sells but let's be honest the timing is pretty bad! But you never know. My work hooks you up when you relocate so fortunately if we can't sell it they will buy it from us -- but we still really want to sell it! I have a Dr.'s appt this afternoon -- it will be my last one here in Memphis. I'll update you all tomorrow but I'm not expecting much news -- it's just a routine appt.

PS - Can you believe it's already Thanksgiving week? I need time to slow down!

Fearing's Sip and See...

Last Sunday when I was home I was also able to go to a Sip and See for Sweet baby Fearing! I was so excited to see him again and his precious Mommy!
Me with Fearing and Whit.
Love my Whit!
Me, Shan and the girls with Whit and Fearing....Harpy was eating a cracker and not interested in taking a picture!
Henley and Fearing...they are about 7 weeks apart. Amazing how much babies grow and change in a short amount of time! Both so precious!
I was so glad to be able to see my friend and her little baby boy! A sip and see is a great idea and I'll probably end up having one so people can meet baby J - because let's face it...not everyone will be able to make the trip out to Oklahoma and I totally understand! =)

Last Weekend

I know it's already Wednesday and I'm just posting about last weekend but it was too much fun not to share some pictures! We headed to Birmingham for the weekend. Saturday night we met up with some friends at a sports bar to watch the Auburn game (yes, it was a heart breaker!).

Me & Brandy - I don't get to see her nearly as often as I would like and it was so nice hanging out and catching up! She's one of my favorite Auburn girls!
Me and the hubs.
Me & Mom
Keith and Brian (with his ugly hat on!) ha! Yes, I'm a sore loser!
Brandy and her husband, Chris. I love this picture!
The band that played after the game. My mom's friend is married to the guitar player on the left so we had lots of fun hanging out and listening to them.
Mitch & Amanda came to hang out too and I'm so glad! Love these guys! And don't worry -- I was the dd - obviously! =) Notice the nice big glass of water in front of me!
Me and my buddy Amanda!
And on Sunday I got to spend the day with my sister and my two favorite little girls! I went with them to make some pottery with Harper and Henley's foot prints and hand prints. They both did so good and I know the pieces are going to turn out so cute!!! I'll have to get Shan to post some pictures once they are finished and she picks them up.
You can make anything...ornaments, picture frames, plates, spoon rest, etc. A great gift idea!
It didn't even phase Henley! She is getting big! I can tell she's changed just in the last week!! Crazy!
But she is just as precious as ever!
After pottery we headed to see one of my best friends and her precious little baby! I'll post some pictures of him tomorrow - he's so cute he deserves his own little post!

27

No time to put up a picture this week -- but I figured since I posted belly pics twice last week that we could call it even!

How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I go to the Dr. next week and at this point I'm not sure I want to know!
Stretch marks? still none...
Sleep: Still getting a good amount...although these hotel beds aren't really doing it for me!
Best moment this week: realizing that I'll get to meet my sweet guy in 3 months!
Movement: Yes! But he doesn't do it on command - like when you want other people to feel him!
Food cravings: nothing really...
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: no
Belly Button in or out? I'm still classifying it as in. =)
What I miss: a cold beer...just being honest! But he is totally worth it!
What I am looking forward to: we are going to try and go register this weekend! yay!
Weekly Wisdom: family is the most important thing. period.
Milestones: hitting the 3rd trimester!

So our big news is...

We are moving! I was fortunate enough to land a promotion at work and after much thought Keith and I decided that taking the job and moving our little family was the right decision. So, we are heading to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2 weeks! Yes, our new home will be in Tulsa and yes I said 2 weeks! Quick I know but that's how these things usually work - we would know...this is our 3rd move in less than 5 years! And besides since the baby will be here in 3 months the sooner the better for us because we have lots to do to get settled before February!

Yes, I know I'm going to be a crazy person for the next few months but luckily I have the most supportive husband ever! Ever. And I know that everything will be fine because we'll be doing this together (and with Cooper, of course)! I really just feel like this is the right decision and everything is going to work out. So, I'm trying not to stress about finding a house, doctor, daycare, moving, the holidays, a new job, etc. Ha! Are you stressed yet from reading this?

But it really isn't as far as it sounds. It is a 9 hour trip from Tulsa to Birmingham by car - which we are planning to do for Christmas! But Southwest flies between the two so hopefully we'll be able to find some cheap flights from time to time!

So, if anyone reading this blog knows anything about Tulsa I would love some advice/suggestions/etc. because we've actually never been there! I did find out one of my good friends from high school is moving there in December so that is pretty exciting. At least I'll have one friend! Well, other than Keith and Cooper and the baby, of course! =)

Sorry for the long post! But it's some pretty big news! I have a really busy week this week - I'm flying out this morning for meetings and to visit my 2 new branches (Tulsa and Oklahoma City) and won't be back until Thursday night.

And just because I'm not a fan of post without pictures here's one of my favorite little buddy!

Things are changing...

Below are some gifts baby J has already received. Courtesy of his Popsy, Nonnie, Aunt Shannon, Uncle Blake, Harper and Henley.

Harper and Henley have outfits to match this -- can't wait to see them all 3 in them next spring!
I got the below in an email from babycenter. It list some things that change once you have a baby! I thought I would share them...

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.

3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your body ... finally.
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.
9. Your heart breaks much more easily.
10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
11. Every day is a surprise.
12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)
13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
14. You become a morning person.
15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.

There are also some other big changes going on with us right now. I'll share more on this next week! But for now I'm going to enjoy the weekend and hope you all do too!

More of the bump...

Thought I would share some more pictures of the bump. Thanks for all the sweet comments yesterday and every week about the bump. You guys sure know how to make a girl feel better about her expanding body!
We took these a couple of weeks ago heading back to Memphis from Birmingham. I noticed these signs on one of the trips home and told Keith that I thought it would make a cute picture. Well, he totally surprised me by asking if I wanted to stop and take some when we were driving back. Such a sweet husband...and not a bad photographer either! I'm sure all the people driving by thought we were crazy!

Also, today is Veteran's day and I just want to say a special thanks to all the men and women who serve and protect our country! Thank you for all of your sacrifices!

Christmas Village 2009

I can't believe Christmas Village has already come and gone. Nor can I believe we are already a week into November. Crazy!
Christmas Village this year was so much fun...a little different but just as great. Different because we didn't take Harper with us...we were all sad but we know she wouldn't have lasted the 11 hours we spent there. Yes, 11! But Henley was with us this year so that fun!
This picture was taken after we got home that night so some of us are looking a little rough - mostly me - but we were worn out!!
We make matching shirts to wear every year because we are cheesy like that. These were our shirts this year. They all had the Santa face but each had a different saying.
This little girl is a peach! She is seriously the prettiest baby I've ever seen. And I'm not just saying that because I'm her aunt! She has great color and skin! She is also so good. She did great the whole looonnnggg day! As long as she was getting fed every 3 or 4 hours then she was just fine! I think I whined more than she did. =)
She's also starting to smile. I didn't get any pictures of it but it will honestly melt your heart! I love her so much!
Mom's shirt says "Dear Santa, I still believe" and Shan's shirt says "Dear Santa, All I want is a silent night".
Mine says "Dear Santa, I can explain".
Below are my goodies I came home with. I honestly didn't really buy that much but we got some great ideas and I plan on making some of it.
New stockings. I got 3 for me, keith and baby boy. I love that they are colorful and funky. I didn't get Cooper one and I really debated this but his current stocking is so cute that I couldn't stand to not use it. His Aunt Shannon gave it to him a couple of years ago and I still love it. It is a paw print with his name monogrammed on it.
You got to pick out what fabric you wanted and they were only $10 each. So a pretty good deal!
I get an ornament every year. This one is the one I picked out for this year.
And of course I always come home with some goodies for my buddy!
He loves them. He smelled them as soon as I got my bags out of the car! Cooper, not Keith. =)
And of course I couldn't come home without something for little baby J. How sweet is this?
Up close.
This is an adorable little ornament that Kathy got for me. I love it!!

It was a great break from work and I got to spend lots of quality time with my family. It was much needed and I hated to leave. Especially Harper and Henley!
