It really came down yesterday...

It snowed ALL day yesterday. We got about 9-10 inches. Crazy. This is the same tree I showed you guys yesterday morning so you can see how much we got.
So, we are just relaxing and hanging around the house. Getting some last minute things checked off the list before our little buddy makes his grand debut!

Snow Day

I'm having my very own snow day. We got hit with an ice storm here and so I didn't want to risk it trying to drive into work today. It wasn't quite as bad as they were expecting so we didn't lose power - thank God! Not sure if you can tell from the below but the trees are covered in ice.
Keith went to the grocery store and stocked up but we completely forgot about buying water. When I got home yesterday and opened the fridge this is what I found. The whole shelf is full of containers of water - every container we own! Poor guy was just worried about us.
It has started to snow now...we are supposed to get between 3-5 inches so we'll see.

I was telling Keith this morning that this is our last weekend of it being just the three of us! My Mom arrives next Saturday and the rest of the family is right behind her. I think spending our last weekend together snowed in and relaxing sounds pretty good!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

The bonus room...

You guys remember the bonus room, right?
Below is what it looked like. It's a big room and it was already painted a color we both liked so we didn't do anything besides put our stuff in it.

This is what it looks like now. It is our Auburn/game/bonus room. And the pictures aren't the best - they were taken at night so there was no natural light.
This is what you see when you walk into the room from the outside.
Directly to the right after walking in from outside.
Straight ahead and you can see the doorway that leads into the rest of the house.
To the left once you walk in from outside.
The door in this picture will take you to the back yard.
This is looking out from the doorway that takes you into the house.

Such a fun room - now we just need lots of company to come fill it up and hang out in it. Lucky for us we will have a house full in just a couple of weeks!!

Quick Update...

Well, I went to the Dr. and nothing to report! I didn't really expect her to tell me anything different so I'm happy! Besides like I've mentioned everything is planned for him to come on the 10th so it will be awesome if he can stay put till then! And I still feel pretty good so it's not like I'm miserable! Don't get me wrong...I'm ready for him to be here...but the 10th is two weeks from today so I'll manage!
Little Cooper on his perch with his favorite toy!
I'm hoping to take some pictures of our finished bonus room so I can share with you guys tomorrow...everything is coming together!

How far along? 37 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: who knows or cares at this point...
Stretch marks? nope
Sleep: not so good but I'm dealing with it...
Best moment this week: getting more prepared - car seat put in, swing assembled, etc...
Movement: Yes, mostly just his body parts bulging out of my sides.
Food cravings: mexican food - not that this is that unusual...we love us some mexican food all the time!
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: no
Belly Button in or out? out
What I miss: normal clothes! and being able to bend over!
What I am looking forward to: my wedding ring not being so tight...a little swollen.
Weekly Wisdom: sometimes it's okay to pull the pregnancy card...
Milestones: 2 weeks left!

I go to the Dr. tomorrow and she'll check me. I'm not expecting to have made any progress but we'll see. Everything is planned for him to come on the 10th so if he decides to come early it is totally going to throw me into a panic! Hopefully he'll hang on till the 10th!

We had a really productive weekend. We got some last minute stuff we needed for our little guy who will be here in about 2 short weeks. We also spent time installing and assembling. It's getting so close!

His stuff is already taking over the den. Bouncy seat...
And we got the base to this guy put in my car. It still doesn't feel quite normal looking back and seeing this in my back seat. But all of this is making me so excited. I'm so ready to meet this little boy!
I feel about 95% prepared at this point. A few more things to do and I should probably pack some bags in the next week or so. I plan to finish everything up this coming weekend. Hopefully he'll stay put till the 10th - we shall see.

I've got a pretty busy week but only 2 more weeks until my maternity leave starts!

Where I Work...

Not sure if you guys remember but below is what my office looked like when I arrived in Tulsa. Nice golf theme, huh??
Well, this is now. One of the nice guys here at work tore down the wallpaper and painted it for me. Just a nice neutral color.
Those pictures framed below actually came out of a calendar and I got the frames for $3 at Wal-Mart. So a pretty cheap way to add a little something to a big wall.
My diploma and a cork board that I covered with fabric behind my desk. Lots of pictures throughout my office too.
Other wall. And behind that credenza is my little mini fridge. =)
I think it looks pretty good. Of course, I'll still be adding things over time but not a bad place to spend my days!

Up to Speed...

Just thought I would give you all a couple of updates on our "relocation" status.

Janna "Flash" Gordon got it done. We sold our house in Olive Branch. Yay! We are actually set to close Monday. Luckily, Kraft handles all of this and we don't physically have to be there.
I really think we were meant to move to Tulsa. Everything has just worked out and gone really smoothly.
We found a daycare. This was a big decision since I can only imagine how hard it is going to be to drop our baby off with some strangers when he is 3 months old. Can't even think about it right now! There weren't a lot of options as many daycares in our area don't take infants. But we found one and I was really pleased when I visited. So we paid our money and reserved our spot. The ratio here is 4 babies to 1 teacher which is really good - in Memphis it was 6 to 1. Not sure what it is in Birmingham. But let me just add daycare is expensive! Geez, who knew!?!?

We are pretty much completely settled into the new house. We've been working like crazy and Keith has done the majority of it! But it feels so good and is really starting to feel like home. I'm hoping to finish up some last little things this weekend and then I will be sharing before and after pictures next week.
Just thought I would give you all a quick update on where we are with everything. So glad tomorrow is Friday!

Baby Shower...the gifts...

So, finally some of the gifts. Let me just preface by saying there is no way I could share everything this little boy has received on here - it's just too much. So, please know that if you have given us a gift that we so appreciate it and don't think just because it isn't on this little ole blog that we don't LOVE it! Kthanks!
My Dad and Kathy got us our super comfortable glider and ottoman. I'm sure I'll spend lots of time in this. It's so comfortable I could sleep in it now. This is the glider we got.

They also bought his crib! They've done so much and we are so grateful!

Some gifts from Shan - so glad everyone remembered big brother Cooper!
All of the gifts at the shower.
We even got Aubie's autograph from Whit!
Lots of money and gift cards!
Onesie clothes line that the hostesses did! So cute!
His beautiful bassinet and coming home gown that my Mom made. She did an awesome job! The striped fabric on the bassinet is also his bedding material. She is making that as well.

Another view...
Close up of his gown. I'm so happy with how it turned out. I think it looks really masculine.
Some more gifts.

All of my hostesses went in and got us the video monitor. I'm so excited about this. My sister has one and it's awesome!!

All the stuff my sister did -- I'm so lucky and she is so creative!
Love this bib! =) And the tie onesie!

baby cousin outfit that matches Harper and Henley - so adorable. I can't wait to take pics of all 3 of them matching! I'm sure this will be the first of many!
As I said this wasn't all of it but just some of the pictures I had. We are truely so blessed!

36 week picture - in the bathroom.

How far along? 36 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I gained 3 lbs. in the last 2 weeks - not too bad!
Stretch marks? still none...
Sleep: um...not so good the last couple of nights. I'm tired! It's funny how mother nature really does start preparing you...
Best moment this week: Keith painting the nursery...I LOVE IT! It looks so good! And I washed all his clothes this past weekend and got them organized. Pictures will be coming soon -- still have some final stuff to do in his room.
Movement: Yes, but he is running out of room!
Food cravings: H2O
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: no
Belly Button in or out? outie
What I miss: sleeping in a position other than on my sides!
What I am looking forward to: installing the car seat in my car. It will be so weird to see this in there but so exciting too!
Weekly Wisdom: I need some wisdom on how to shave my legs...thank goodness I only have a couple weeks left but this has become increasingly difficult! Even in the bathtub!
Milestones: 3 weeks! The countdown is officially on!

I went to the Dr. yesterday. Everything was perfect. His heart rate was in the 130's and sounded good. My weight gain wasn't atrocious - thanks God and my bp was good at 110/60. I had my group B strep done and it wasn't that bad. I start going every week now and getting checked. I go back next Wednesday.

Yappy Barkday to a special little guy!

I have to interrupt the baby shower posts to wish a Happy 4th (or is it 28th) Birthday to my special little buddy!
Isn't he just the cutest!!
Just lounging...
I'm sure most of you picked up from reading this blog how much Cooper means to us! He really is part of our family and I honestly can't imagine life without him. He has definitely taught me patience over the years (and how to get stains out of the carpet!) but the decision to bring him home with us that day in May 2006 is one I have never regretted! Even when he eats our socks, barks non-stop, and has large vet bills. He is worth it all!
These pictures below are from his first few days with us. We rescued him in May of 2006 and I remember it like it was yesterday! An organization called Noah's Bark was set up in front of a Petco in Atlanta. We had been looking for a puppy for a couple of weeks but I had decided that I wanted either a Bichon or a King Charles Cavalier. I have never even heard of a Lhasa Apso! Well, we wandered over to the Petco to take a look and we spotted two pins of adorable puppies. We watched them play for a while and had our eye on him because he was pretty laid back. As I asked the girl working if I could hold him she pointed out that we were at the girl pin (bummer because I really wanted a boy) but when I told her which one I wanted to hold she informed us that actually he was the only boy in that pin and he was there because the other boy dogs were too aggressive for him. I'm telling you it was meant to be. We didn't put him back down until we got home!

So little and shaggy and definitely unsure!
Him and his brother and sisters were rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri. So it took him some time to finally warm up to us. But he is for sure attached now. He loves us as much as we love him. It's amazing how much joy a little doggy can bring you! But a highlight of my day is getting home to find him so excited to see me....every. single. day. That never gets old!

So, happy birthday Coopie dog!
