Good Friday!

We are in the Easter spirit and we've been celebrating for a week or so.

Last weekend we ventured out to see the Easter bunny.  It didn't go so well.  But I would imagine that a big white bunny could be scary to a little guy.

So, we re-grouped and took a family photo.  Apparently the bunny wasn't ready.

We've also been doing our resurrection eggs.  Today is day 10.  You do it for 12 days, finishing on Easter Sunday.  This is a great way to share the Easter story with children.  Every egg holds something that represents part of the Easter story.  You can see inside some of the eggs below ~ there are coins, a cross, a spear, a crown of thorns and a rock.  Something different in every egg.  And the egg you open on Easter Sunday is empty to represent the empty tomb.  You read a bible verse when you open the egg and it all tells the story of Easter.

Saw loves playing with the eggs.  We sit down everynight and read it as a family.

In my opinion there isn't another holiday with more meaning.  So, it is important to me to be intentional about teaching Sawyer why we celebrate.

We also made some goodies for Saw's teachers.  I got the idea from my sister who made these as Valentine's - she got the idea from here.  Don't you just love the internet?!  It's so full of ideas!

And Saw has been loving playing with all the plastic eggs!

And hiding them under the couch.

We are looking forward to really celebrating this weekend.  We are planning to dye eggs, make resurrection buns, hunt eggs, and celebrate a God that loves us so much that he sent his only son to die for us.  Can you imagine?  I can't.  But I'm so thankful for His sacrifice, His mercies, His grace and this life that He has blessed me with!

What a wonderful present you are giving Sawyer, and will continue to give all of your children! It is never to early to teach then that God loves them so much that He sent His Son for us. You and Keith are such amazing parents to understand the importance of raising children in a Godly home.

We are all truly blessed! Not only with Christ as our Savior but to have you all in our lives.

I hope Lil Man has a great time with those eggs!! He is so adorable!!

Much love to you all
