birmingham trip...more pictures

The rest of our pictures from our recent trip home.  We were only there 2.5 days so it was quick.
But we squeezed in a lot -- some better documented than others.
We headed to the local skating rink Saturday morning with Nonnie and Popsy.  They have a tiny tots skate on Saturday mornings and it includes inflatables - which were way more fun than actually skating.  In fact, Sawyer never put on any skates.  Regardless, it was lots of fun.

We had a family birthday dinner for my mom.

And we spent Sunday with Keith's family.  The only picture I snapped was of these sweet boys hugging.

As always, it was a great trip!

SURPRISE || a {early} 30th birthday party

So, while Sawyer's choo choo party was awesome, I have to say the highlight of our recent trip to Birmingham was walking into my surprise {early}30th birthday party.  I think it's safe to say I had NO idea.  When you are thrown a surprise party 5 months in advance you don't really have your radar up.  But my mom and sweet sisters knew that we wouldn't be back visiting around my birthday so they went ahead and planned the most fabulous party for me.  It was such an awesome night.  They outdid themselves on all the organizing, planning, scheming and decorating.  And I had so much fun catching up with family and lots of old friends and especially getting to see all their babies.
It was almost surreal looking around the room at all the people I love.  Like my heart was so one point I was actually in tears.  Seeing them all mingling, laughing and passing babies back and forth...mixing good food, conversation, beer bottles and baby bottles.  I seriously haven't had that much fun in a long time.
It definitely took the edge off of turning 30! ;)
Below are some pics from the celebration....

And a few phone pictures that I've collected from a couple people...

 I'm so thankful for my family for planning such an awesome night.  And I'm so thankful for all my buddies that were able to be there to help "surprise" me.  I am a blessed lady!
